The results, honestly reported

Organic Alternatives is a single-location dispensary in Fort Collins, Colorado. We took over their social media in July 2025. The month before, their Instagram had 1,231 views. Over the next twelve months, with no paid ads, it averaged 18,675 views a month — and the best month of the year was the most recent one.

Why most dispensary social media fails

Two reasons, and they're related. First, compliance: Meta treats cannabis as a restricted category. Prices in a post, "order now," a link straight to the menu, product being consumed — each one is a flag, and flags add up to a restricted or deleted account. Most agencies find this out on your account.

Second, consistency: posting three times in a week and then nothing for a month tells the algorithm you're not worth showing. Reach is earned with a steady cadence and content people actually watch — which in 2026 means reels.

What's included

  • 3–5 posts a week across Instagram and Facebook — feed posts, stories, and reels.
  • Every post compliance-reviewed before it goes live. No prices, no purchase language, no consumption — and still interesting.
  • Video made for you — product, staff, behind-the-scenes, and event clips. Reels went from almost nothing to about 9,300 views in our case-study account's final month; that's the lever for year two.
  • Event partnerships — every top month in our case study was driven by a local event partnership: festival wristband giveaways, a box-office activation, a mural video that alone drew 4,368 views. We find and run these.
  • Community engagement — replies, comments, and the local accounts worth being friendly with.
  • Sign-up capture — link-in-bio, story stickers, and event forms that move followers onto your text and email list, where retention marketing can turn them into revenue.
  • Monthly reporting from native insights — views, reach, followers, engagement, and which posts did the work.

Social builds the list. Retention monetizes it.

A social post is hard to tie to a sale. A text message isn't. That's why we treat social as one half of a system: it's how new people find you and how your opted-in list grows. SMS, email, and loyalty marketing is the other half — the part measured in dollars. Run together, the system feeds itself: social fills the list, the list drives visits, visits make content. Ask about combined pricing.

Questions about dispensary social media

Why do dispensary Instagram accounts keep getting flagged or shut down?
Because Meta (Instagram and Facebook) treats cannabis as a restricted category. Posts that show prices, say 'buy' or 'order', link straight to a menu, or show product being consumed get flagged — and repeated flags get an account restricted or removed. Most agencies learn this after they've cost you an account. Every post we publish is reviewed against those rules before it goes live.
Can you run paid ads for my dispensary?
Meta doesn't allow paid cannabis advertising, so no — and anyone who tells you they can is putting your account at risk. Everything in our case study was organic: no ad spend at all. Reach comes from content, consistency, events, and reels.
How many posts a month?
Three to five a week — a mix of feed posts, stories, and reels. Product, staff, behind-the-scenes, events, and education. We make the video; you don't need to hand us anything but access and an occasional five minutes with your team.
How do you measure social media?
Views, reach, follower growth, and engagement from the native Instagram and Facebook insights — the same numbers you can see yourself. We report monthly and we publish the year-one results for our case-study client in full, including the months that dipped.
Does social media actually bring in customers?
Social is how new people find you and how your text and email list grows. It's the front door. But it's hard to tie a post to a sale, which is why we treat social as the audience-building half of a system — and run retention marketing (SMS, email, loyalty) as the half that turns that audience into measured revenue. Bundle the two and ask about combined pricing.
