Alpine IQ Marketing Certified

Alpine IQ management for dispensaries — certified, hands-on, priced on results.

You pay for Alpine IQ every month. We make it earn its keep: campaigns, automatic flows, customer segments, loyalty, and the carrier registration that decides whether your texts arrive at all. Every result reported in your own dashboard.

What "managing Alpine IQ" actually means

Alpine IQ is one of the most widely used retention platforms in US cannabis, and it's deep — deep enough that most dispensaries use a fraction of it. Here's the platform in one line: it collects customer data from your point-of-sale system, segments customers into groups, sends campaigns, automates messages that fire on their own, and proves what each message made you. Managing it means running all five, every week.

The 30-day takeover

When we take over an Alpine IQ account, the first month follows a fixed checklist. This is the part most agencies skip, and it's where the money is.

Days 1–3 · Diagnose

Write down the baseline

Revenue attributed to messages, how many customers are actually opted in (not just in the database), which automations are live, what the text failure rate is, and whether 10DLC registration is complete. (10DLC is the mobile carriers' sign-up system for business texting; without it, texts get filtered.) Documented before we change anything — this is what your performance fee is measured against.

Week 1 · Fix delivery

Make the texts arrive

Check carrier registration, raise the filtration protection level to the setting Alpine IQ recommends for regulated industries, verify the email sending domain, and set the attribution window to strict. None of this is visible to customers. All of it decides whether anything else works.

Weeks 2–3 · Build the flows

Turn on the automatic messages

Welcome series and win-back first — they pay back fastest and need no online-ordering integration. Then birthday, first-to-second purchase, abandoned cart, points reminders, replenishment, and post-purchase review. Each one built so that a customer who can't receive texts still gets the email version instead of falling out of the sequence.

Week 4 · Segment and send

Launch the campaign calendar

Audiences built from purchase history — lapsed regulars, category buyers, high spenders, new sign-ups. A monthly promotion calendar written to pass carrier filters, with the offer on a landing page and neutral text in the message body, the way texting in a regulated industry has to work.

Day 90 · Prove it

Publish results against the baseline

Everything measured from day one, in your dashboard, with strict attribution. If the numbers moved, you'll see exactly how much and from where. If they didn't, you'll see that too.

What we found in a real account

A single-location Colorado dispensary, account taken over August 2026. The platform was fully paid for. Here's what it was doing:

1
Promotion sent in 90 days — not even a 4/20 text
73%
Of the paid message capacity sitting unused
1 of 8
Of the eight automatic programs we build, one existed — the referral program was created and left in draft
91%
Of tracked revenue from the few automatic messages already running unattended
What this is and isn't: these figures describe the program we inherited, built by the previous marketer. We claim none of the revenue. We claim the diagnosis — and we'll publish what changed, measured against this starting point, about 90 days in.

Inside the platform: what we run

Campaigns

Text and email promotions, planned a month ahead. Text written in carrier-safe form with the offer on an Alpine IQ landing page. Email built for a 10-second read on a phone.

Flows (automations)

The eight lifecycle programs — welcome, win-back, first-to-second purchase, birthday, abandoned cart, points nudge, replenishment, review. Built, tested, and re-checked monthly.

Audiences

Segments built from real purchase behavior, not guesses: last purchase date, category, spend, opt-in status. Refreshed automatically as customers move between groups.

Loyalty configuration

Points, tiers, redemption thresholds, and referral rewards set so the program drives visits rather than just giving margin away to regulars.

Deliverability

10DLC carrier registration, filtration protection level, sending-number health, email domain authentication. The unglamorous work that decides whether anything arrives.

Reporting

Monthly, in plain English, from your own dashboard: revenue per message, list growth, which flows earned what — against the day-one baseline.

Certified on Alpine IQ. Fluent in the rest.

Alpine IQ is where we do our best work, but it isn't the only platform and it isn't right for every store. Carrier policy is the reason cannabis needs a specialist platform at all — Twilio, Klaviyo, Attentive, and Postscript all prohibit cannabis texting — and within that world, Alpine IQ and Springbig are the two main options, with point-of-sale systems like Dutchie now bundling their own loyalty tools for smaller stores. We'll tell you honestly which one fits, and we'll run whichever you're on. The full picture is on our SMS, email & loyalty marketing page.

Questions about Alpine IQ management

Are you an official Alpine IQ partner?
Matthew holds Alpine IQ's Marketing certification (completed August 2026) and runs a live Alpine IQ account every day. Green Spark Media is an independent agency — we're not owned by or affiliated with Alpine IQ, and we're not the only agency that works in it. What's different is the combination: Alpine IQ plus social media, for single-location and small multi-location operators, priced on performance, led by a free written audit.
I already pay for Alpine IQ. Why do I need someone to run it?
Because the platform doesn't run itself. It can send eight kinds of automatic messages, segment your customers by what they buy, and run a loyalty program with tiers and referral rewards — but every one of those has to be built, and most never are. In the account we took over, one of eight automations existed and 73% of the paid message capacity went unused. You're paying for a full platform and getting a birthday text.
My texts aren't arriving. Can you fix that?
Usually, yes. The most common causes are an incomplete 10DLC carrier registration, a filtration setting that's too low for a regulated industry, or message wording that trips carrier filters. We check all three on day one. Alpine IQ reports a text failure rate in its settings; a high one means something is wrong, and it's fixable.
Do you work with Springbig or Dutchie loyalty too?
Yes. Alpine IQ is where we're certified and most fluent, but the strategy — welcome, win-back, segmentation, compliance — is the same on any platform. If you're on Springbig and wondering whether to move, we'll give you a straight answer. If your store is small enough that Dutchie's built-in loyalty does the job, we'll tell you that too.
Who actually does the work?
Matthew does. There's no junior account manager and no 30-client workload. You get the person who holds the certification and who personally built the program.
